We have recently published our supplementary report (available to read here) which was conducted to see what progress had been made since out previous report and to highlight areas where there was still improvement to be made. In addition, in our latest report we also conducted a survey of teachers, to see what mental health provisions for young people they knew about and felt needed to be put in place.
Mental health has been a hot topic of interest with the SAYC for many years now. Our first report was a look into the awareness of current mental health provisions that were currently in place both in secondary schools and Hertfordshire, and the possible need for an expansion of those provision. Our first report is available to read here.
We met with several politicians, including the Deputy Prime Minister and the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Mental Health, to discuss our findings. We also were featured on ‘Shrink Wrapped’ on BBC Three Counties Radio, a programme dedicated to mental health.
